Once again we are playing at Govan and Linthouse Parish Church. This will take place on November 24th at the New Govan Church, 796 Govan Road, at 7.00 pm. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased at the door. There will be a mixture of music, old and new, with much having a seasonal theme.
During the interval there will be the usual excellent refreshments and a raffle. All moneys raised will be shared between Govan and Linthouse Parish Church and Flute Phonics.
On Saturday 18th May the Friends of Barshaw Park are holding a Walled Peace Garden Open Day and we will be playing there again as we did last year. The open day runs from 2pm to 4pm, and we will be playing between 2 and 3pm.
Here we are last year at Barshaw Park where the sun shone for the day. The only problem was the wind which tended to blow the music stands over.
On Sunday 14th April at 7pm we are holding a concert at Govan and Linthouse Parish Church. We have often played at Govan and Linthouse, but this is the first time in their newly refurbished building and we are very much looking forward to it.
Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased at the door. Refreshments are included! The address is New Govan Church, 796 Govan Road, G51 2YL.
On Saturday 27 October 2018 we had our musical event in memory of Laura Hay, a founder member of our group, who so sadly passed away earlier this year after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. We miss her greatly. Funds raised will be donated to Beatson Cancer Charity. If you would still like to donate, you can still visit our Just Giving page.
The concert was a great success and we would like to thank all who attended for coming on this special night. Particular thanks also to the other performers: the Madrigirls, Chris and Aimée, and the McAllister Duo. Also to our conductors, Rachel and Aisling – we couldn’t have done it without you!
On Sunday 11 March, 2018 we will be playing in the Glasgow Music Festival in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. We are playing in Class 240 for Wind Orchestras and Bands. Last year was our first year at the festival and we were delighted to come 2nd in the class, just missing out to Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes, and we hope to do well again this year.
This event will be on 17th February at 7:30pm in Renfield St Stephen’s Church. This will be our first concert playing alongside the excellent Carluke Primrose Orchestral Flutes and we are very much looking forward to it.
